Carefully remove the toilet cistern lid & put a few drops of food colouring in the toilet cistern.

Wait a few seconds & if the colouring begins to appear in the toilet bowl without flushing, you have a leaking toilet.

The most common cause of a toilet leak is a failed cistern rubber, but we also find other components in the toilet cistern like the mechanisms, seals or parts are required at the same time.

At the very least, you need to have the cistern rubber repaired immediately.
