Where Is My Water Meter?
On most Gold Coast residential properties, the water meter is located near the front boundary of the property, often inside a small meter box close to the footpath, driveway or front fence.
If you're unable to locate your water meter, check your property's front boundary or contact your water provider for guidance.
How to Isolate Your Water Meter
If it is safe to do so:
Locate your water meter.
Turn the isolation valve clockwise until it stops.
Check that the water has stopped flowing from taps inside the home.
Leave the water turned off until the plumbing issue has been repaired.
If the isolation valve is damaged, difficult to operate or you cannot safely turn it off, contact a licensed plumber for assistance.
Why Isolating Your Water Meter Is Important
Turning off your water supply quickly can:
Help reduce water damage to your home.
Minimise unnecessary water loss.
